We took the high speed train to Saarland (180 mph):
It has been awesome living in Kleinblittersdorf with my host family. Both of the parents work, the son is in highschool, and the daughter is in elementary school. They also have two cats- they are always causing trouble (insatiable appetites). Here is Max, the bad cat, rocking his normal pose:
On my first day we went for a walk and also got ice cream. Fabian convinced me to try spaghetti ice, which looks disgusting yet tastes great. Raspberries, strawberries, vanilla, and white chocolate:

The family is very nice and has a great sense of humor. For example, they hung an American flag over my bed in my room.
Until October 20th, I will not have actual classes at the HTW. Instead, I am in a German course similar to Cologne. Part of the lesson on Thursday was learning (getting exposed to) the local Saarlandisch dialect. Here is a list of Saar and German words side by side:
