In Barcelona we walked a lot. Around 30 kilometers in the one day. Here is an overview of our walking trip, from our second stop, which we walked to from Stop 1:
This park was also designed by Gaudi and was a lot less polished than the church. We had fun wandering around and listening to the people playing music there:
I didn't know beforehand that Barcelona was a desert. I liked seeing familiar plants:
One of the guys playing music was really weird. He wasn't really singing but rather yelling very fast and rapid strumming a guitar to no particular cord or rhythm. We think he might of been on drugs. Russell really didn't like the things he was saying (he was rude). Russell's death glare:
I found out that if you tell people to do things while you're taking a picture, they just do them. "Okay now hands on your hips!":
"Blog Blackmail"
Gaudi was crazy:
I liked the mosaic details:
We wrapped up our Gaudi tour with a soan-soak break and a group photo:
Than we walked to the Ocean, by way of the Gothic Quarter.
I wish we would have had more time for the Gothic Quarter. All of the streets were super narrow and crowded. It seemed like a lot was going on. Than we stopped at a large church, which clearly didn't have as much money as La Sagrada:
Barcelona seems like the perfect city. Art, architecture, mountains, metropolitan, history, and a really awesome and inviting beach. We strolled down the beach:
And then we stumbled upon a men's volleyball championship game:
We sat and watched them play, which was really impressive. They can really hit the ball hard.
I can't remember if this is Russell's "I can't believe a liter of beer was 4 euros" or "I can't believe how technically difficult the bikini-clad dance-team's Halftime routine was"
After the games were over we walked back to the city to watch the soccer finals and to eat.
Our Yelping failed and we ended up eating at an incredible Tapas place near the Gothic Quarter.
