Greatest German Invention: Singen im Biergarten

On Sunday, we went to Singen im Biergarten.  It was awesome, check out the video below:

Singen im Biergarten is a giant, outdoor, 100% participation Karaoke party.  The posted video is from last year's Singen im Biergarten experience.  This particular band comes to Koeln each summer and hosts 4 sing-along nights in Fort X (an old Prussian fort about 10mins walk from my apartment).  The piano player, guitar, and two singers lead the crowd in songs for 2.5 hrs via printed programs you can rent for 2 euro.  The theme for our particular night was love songs, which included English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish songs. Everyone here is so multilingual that even if they don't know the language, they know the pronunciations and can sing (loudly) along with the crowd.

One of the "liquid courage" stands.  We had to explain that joke to our table friends.
Stage where the music leaders were.

The Program. Videos For Each Below.
Am Tag, als Conny Kramer starb (The night they drove old Dixie down)
Imagine 100+ people singing along towards the end of the night...

Wunder gibt es immer wieder
It's an okay song, but it went over like a lead balloon with our crowd.
